Your Second Blog Assignment: "Heritage Web Quest"
Now that you have completed your "About Me" page for your blog, it's time to widen your audience with a blog about your heritage and culture.
Write a 3-5 paragraph blog post about your family's background, heritage, culture and celebrations. You must write this in a third person narrative format. INTRODUCTION Almost everyone in America can tie their family history back to a different country. Have you ever wondered where your family came from, and why? Through this web quest, you will find answers to those questions, as well as learning more about the culture your family brought with them to America. TASK You will accomplish a variety of tasks through this web quest. You will research, and generate a family tree of the cultures and traditions from your family history. You will interview a family member to learn more about your heritage and customs. You will use the gathered information in your blog. You are to write a 3-5 paragraph blog post about your family's background, heritage, culture and celebrations. You must write this in a third person narrative format. (You must decide what information to include per each paragraph. PROCESS You will start this project with the creation of your family tree. You may download the form by clicking on the word, “here”. To help you create this tree, you will need to interview your parent, your aunt/uncle, or your grandparent. Next, you will select a family member to interview for your project write up. You need to watch the video interview of immigrants’ kids via this Scholastic Web Site. From the video you watched, create several interview questions for your subject. Design your questions and your information collection base on how you want to present it in the writing of your blog article. Remember think about what information you want to write about then create questions geared toward gathering said information. |
